Beloved, Missions research shows that of the World Population of over 7.13 Billion people today, only 32.6% is Christian, and over 67% non-Christian, out of which 41.3% (representing over 3 billion people in 7,165 people groups) have not yet been reached with the gospel. This is because out of the over 5.5 million Christian workers and Ministers in the world today, over 98.4% are working among Christians and Churched populations only, with only 1.6% working among the unreached – in the neediest Missions fields.

To this effect, GMRC is set to provide Missions information and resources that will drive the Global Outreach and evangelization effort of Ministries and mobilize the body of Christ for greater involvement in World Missions through giving, intercession & going.

GMRC is Strategically set:

To Strengthen the capacity of the Church to effectively engage in global missions through Prayers and Evangelization;

To enhance the ability of the Missions Department of Ministries to better collate and manage Missions data for improved planning and implementation of Church planting and Outreach Initiatives locally and globally;

To mobilize and train missionaries while creating an enabling environment for short and long-term care and support for serving missionaries.

As you can imagine, a project like this will require financial support from a number of people. There is need to raise $400,000 by April 20th. We invite you to support this laudable project financially, most importantly, your prayer support is also needed. Prayer is the fuel that will allow us to be successful as we follow God's leading in ministry. Without prayer, nothing will happen. Because they Have not heard GMRC.

What about Missions: Is “Missions”really a Buzzword ” Missions is a loaded word for most Christians. Many people are exposed to missions in the context of appeals for volunteers or funds. Missions has often been reduced to a limited question of whether you will be a missionary or not. Most Christians would admit that they don't really know what Missions is all about. It is even more difficult to understand how someone can live for God's global purpose without being a 'missionary”.

What is Mission

Missions is God's love and redemptive work extended to the next door neighbor and across cultural lines, building his Kingdom. Missions is any effective step taken by a Christian or a group of Christians towards fulfilling or enabling the fulfillment of the great commission within and beyond the usual ambit. (U. Obed 2001) Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit.”

It is the extension and completion of the Abrahamic covenant. “I will make you a great nation and bless you. I will make you famous; you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you; those who curse you I will curse. All the families of the earth will be blessed through you.”(Gen 12:3). God blesses us for a purpose and He has designed that we should steward His blessing by blessing others. “This is my covenant with you; you will be the father of many nations. Your name will no longer be Abram, but Abraham, meaning that I'm making you the father of many nations.” (Genesis 17:4).

Missions practically implies moving at the impulse of God's love, based on his promises. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 ESV. The overall goal of Missions is for all the Nations of the world to know Him, Love Him and Worship Him. “1 May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us, 2 so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. 3 May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you.” (Psalms 67:1-3). The point of this article and our overall passion is not to persuade you to become a missionary, but to show the feasibility of the mandate and to set you on a path of ongoing learning in order to play your own part fruitfully. The primary idea behind missions is that God will surely fulfill His purpose. That certainty makes our invitation to join Him in His missions a matter of heart

What is Evangelism

The word Evangelism is from the Greek word "Evangelion" which means “the good news”. The Oxford English Dictionary defines Evangelism as the spreading of the Christian gospel by public preaching or personal witness. According to a publication on the Anglican Church in 1918,.

Missions and Evangelism Missions is to present Christ Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit, that men shall come to put their trust in God through Him, to accept Him as their Saviour, and serve Him as their King in the fellowship of His Church”. · Similarly, the 1974 Lausanne Congress declares that:"Evangelism is to spread the good news that Jesus Christ died for our sins and was raised from the dead according to the Scriptures, and that as the reigning Lord, he now offers the forgiveness of sins and the liberating gift of the Holy Spirit to all who repent and believe. Evangelism also implies “proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, to persuade people to become His disciples and responsible members of His Church." (The 1977 Church Growth Definition). Simply put, Evangelism is the proclamation of the good news(The Gospel). “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, 19. to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.” (Luke 4:18-19)

There are various missiological categories of Evangelism:

E-0, Evangelism Bringing conversion or renewal to church members
E-1, Evangelism Refers to ministry within one's own city or general geographic region and culture (often referred to as “Jerusalem and Judea”). members
E-2, Evangelism -Refers to cross-cultural ministry, but to a culture with significant similarities to one's own culture (referred to as “Samaria”).members
E-3, Evangelism that crosses significant cultural differences (referred to as “the ends of the earth”).The difference from one category to another is not measured by miles or distance but by the difference in culture.

When people get the two words (Missions & Evangelism) mixed up, they usually end up defining everything as evangelism and in the process, the definition of missions gets lost. A lot of people misunderstand the term Missions and Evangelism and end up using them interchangeably. Dear beloved, this distinction is not intended to diminish the vital importance of evangelism and missions. It is merely intended to clearly understand the differences between the two and the vital importance for the local church to know that you can do evangelism without missions, but you cannot do missions without doing evangelism. We believe that every individual and every church should be deeply committed both to evangelism and global missions—both for the glory of our great God and for the lasting joy of all peoples. In summary, any church that is engaged in missions, carries out simultaneous outreach, from the neighbor next door to the uttermost parts of the earth. This church is organic, dynamic and mobilized.
