STUDY TO SHOW YOUR SELF APPROVED (1 TIM 2:15)

HISTORY OF MISSIONS(M101)

General overview of the history of the modern missions movement. They receive instruction concerning the biblical directive for missions, and they also review historical information concerning how the Church has responded to the missions mandate it was given in the Great Commission.

PERSPECTIVES ON GLOBAL CHRISTIAN MOVEMENT

‘Perspectives’ is the study of God's love and so it's the study of Vision, Hope and Passion. This course is a call for servant catalysts as God invites His Children to join Him in His mission of Transformation. The sole purpose of our existence is to Steward God's blessings in anything we do, but how sad we often forget! The ‘Perspective’ course – is a training that will completely transform your life, your world view and change you from being a local-minded Christian to a global Christian.

BIBLICAL BASIS FOR MISSIONS (M102)

The Bible can be seen as diary of missionary work among the human race. We will explore from a biblical perspective what the mission is, who are missionaries, what do they do, and what is Gods missionary story from when the earth was formless and void, until we all are with him face to face in the Kingdom of God.

HARVEST CONNECTION(M100)

The overall goal of this course is to help connect the entire church to the world's harvest by helping her discover God's overall plan for world harvest and acquire new information about the world's current spiritual state.

SUPPORT RAISING IN MISSIONS (M201)

This course is designed to provide biblical and practical instruction in the area of raising support for individuals who feel called to enter full-time, cross-cultural missions work.

KNOWING YOUR SHAPE(SG101)

(Spiritual Gifts, Abilities/Strengths, Personality/Pathways, Experience) God has uniquely made each one of us for His glory. This course helps you discover your temperament, spiritual gifts, love language, strengths/weaknesses, etc. Understanding how God made you often times can help people discern a sense of calling and what it is that the Lord may want you to do to further His kingdom. Studying these things will not only help you understand yourself, but it will help you understand others as well, which is a great ministry skill. It is essential on the mission field because ministry really boils down to relationships. So, we will learn how different people are wired so that we can better work with other ministers and be able to be more effective at reaching out to the lost

SINGLENESS AND MARRIAGE IN MISSIONS (M300)

Male/female relationships on the mission field are very important. There are unique challenges for singles as well as married people. This course will talk about male and female lust and how it differs as well as how to walk in victory in that area. We will talk about romantic relationships as well as some of the differences between “his needs” and “her needs”. Several of the videos also focus on how to have a healthy marriage and biblical manhood/womanhood. Our families are our first mission field, so we need to make sure that things are in order there before going and taking the gospel to the ends of the earth.

PRAYER EVANGELISM (SW102)

The first aspect of this course focuses on how we can take a spiritual stand on intercession. It also focuses on the prayer, evangelism and spiritual warfare that many people will experience on the mission field. We prepare both defensively and offensively to come against the works of the enemy. We will also be talking about the authority that we have in Christ as well as the importance of submission to authorities that have been established by God.

EFFECTIVE PARTNER COMMUNICATIONS 1 & 2 (C101 & C102)

Students are educated in the various techniques that are used to effectively communicate with ministry partners.

HEALING, FAITH, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT IN MISSIONS (F100)

This course focuses on the Holy Spirit and the supernatural power that God gives to complete the Great Commission. There are a lot of questions that come up during the missionary training school such as “how do you know when it is time to persevere vs. when is it time to wipe the dust off your feet” or “how do you know if you're supposed to go to the 10/40 window or work a secular job and support indigenous missionaries”. A lot of these questions really don't have an answer other than “ask God” or “the Holy Spirit will show you”. So, this week is dedicated to studying the person of the Holy Spirit: his filling, his fruit, his gifts, his character, his role in salvation, the Trinity, etc. Jesus said not to leave Jerusalem without the Holy Spirit because he would give us the power, direction, strength, counsel, and words we need to fulfill the Great Commission.

WORLDVIEW AND RELIGIONS
(WR101)

Every place you go, people already have their own established world view and religion. This course teaches you how to analyze and understand different religions and world views, as well as how to build a cultural bridge so like Paul we can say "I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do this for the sake of the gospel that I may share with them in its blessings." 1 Cor. 9:22-23

HERMENEUTICS AND OLD/NEW TESTAMENT SURVEY (HM100)

During this course, we will be talking about Hermeneutics (Bible interpretation) and doing an overview of the Old and New Testament. It is important for cross-cultural laborers to appropriately be able to handle God's word and teach others to do the same. We will learn to do inductive Bible study as well as Discovery Bible Studies (DBS). There will be a brief overview of each book of the Bible as well as information about geographical, historical, and cultural context of the Old and New Testament.

STORYTELLING IN MISSIONS
(M301)

During this course, we will talk about the most effective way to share the gospel with people of oral or non-literate cultures. We will talk about the power of storytelling and how chronological storytelling has been an effective tool in many missions' contexts. We will also look at a lot of different audio and video resources that are being used overseas to disciple the nations. Storytelling is a tool that is being used all over the world in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting.

CHURCH PLANTING MOVEMENTS AND BUSINESS AS MISSION
(BAM)

The purpose of this module is to discuss the universal elements of Church Planting Movements (CPMs) and Disciple Making Movements (DMMs). There are places around the world where people are coming to Christ in droves and churches are being planted very rapidly. We want to learn some of the New Testament principles that are being used to see these types of movements to Christ. We will talk about reproducible discovery Bible studies, obedience based discipleship, leadership development, elephant vs. rabbit churches, etc.

This course focuses on the role of music in prayer and intercession for kingdom building. There has been a large focus on “praise and worship” recently in our churches. Is there something special about times of worship and “entering into God's presence” or is worship supposed to be a lifestyle? Maybe it is both.

TAKING OUR CITIES (WR201)

It is projected that 70% of the world's people will live in urban areas by 2050. Cities present an amazing opportunity to us as missionaries as many people are uprooted from barriers that prevent them from receiving Jesus, and yet there are also great challenges and needs that accompany these opportunities. We need to see the city with Gods eyes, and learn from him how to reach out to people living there. This also incorporates reaching the different structures of society with Gods principles.

THE CROSS-CULTURAL GOSPEL(WR301)

The gospel is wonderful news, so why it that many people don't know what it is, and many Christians don't know how to share it? This week will look at one method of storytelling to share the message with people who have had no Biblical background or understanding. You learn how to tell the Story, and teach/share it with groups of people. This is an invaluable tool to use with unsaved people, as well as in churches and discipleship groups
